Joe Tandy won the first Formula Palmer Audi race of the day with a sensational performance at Brands Hatch.

Tandy had a great start, and passed Polesitter Stuart Prior and Viktor Jensen at Paddock Hill Bend corner on the first lap. He never looked like being beaten, and went on to take a comfortable victory. Jensen overtook Prior and went on to secure second place, with Prior ending in third.

Emilio de Villota was fourth, followed by Chris Hyman and David Epton, who charged from the back of the field to finish sixth. Sam Edward was running fifth until he retired with a mechanical problem on the final lap.
